Can you swim immediately after a laser tattoo removal treatment? Good question.
Ideally you should avoid immersing the treated area in hot or potentially dirty water for at least a couple of days after your treatment (or until any redness or blisters have healed). This includes baths, hot tubs, pools, oceans, lakes, rivers, etc.
The reason we recommend avoiding this is to minimize contact with any possible sources of infection to your newly treated tattoo — that is the main thing we’re concerned about.
If you happened to accidentally fall in some water, don’t worry. Just be sure to rinse the area thoroughly and gently (no scrubbing) with clean water and mild soap. Then apply the ointment and bandages as instructed.
